A photo I found of the 1600GT taken in about 1983, not long after I resprayed it in diamond white. The chrome dome wheel centres and rim trims were swapped from my girlfriend's 3000 V6 GT Automatic (pics below) and looked pretty cool with the gold GT stripe. The GT stripes and badges are really Australian 3000GT look.
A shot of my (then) girlfriend's 1970 3000GT Automatic at Longwood in Victoria in summer 1983. Notice the wheel trims should be on the 1600GT? I must have swapped them. This Capri was a wonderful touring car; the V6 and Borg-Warner 35 auto combination worked very well. Kerrie traded her Datsun 120Y lift-back for this gem. The car dealer was called 'Endeavour Motors' on Warragul Road Chadstone. A McDonalds restaurant now resides on the site. Anyway, once she drove this mighty V6 Capri after the 1200cc Datsun, she didn't need much convincing to buy the car. I think it's right hand side panels were replaced due to a smash but the repair was well done. The registration number was KTM323 and the plates were handed in in 1992. If anyone knows if the car still survives, please let me know.
The second photo with Kerrie standing alongside was also taken at Longwood.
The 3000GT at Maldon railway station.
There I am with a 'mou and more hair than I remember. This photo was taken near the Elphingstone railway tunnel the same day as the Maldon shot above.
